About Pixemon

The Browser-First Photo Studio & Collage Platform

Pixemon is a modern web application engineered to bridge the gap between complex, subscription-heavy desktop software and lightweight mobile editing utilities. By harnessing modern web standards—including WebAssembly, WebGL, and ONNX Runtime—Pixemon brings photo collage layouts, measured portrait printing layouts, automated AI background removal, and non-destructive image adjustments straight into your browser.

Who builds Pixemon

Pradeep Maskeri creates and maintains Pixemon. He is an engineer with four decades of experience in image processing, electronics design, and hardware and software integration. He also builds CompJPG, a browser-based image compression tool. His work on Pixemon focuses on practical photo tools that process images on your device.

Our Mission: Creative Freedom Without Compromise

For decades, users seeking to assemble multi-photo print sheets, arrange portrait print sheets, or perform clean edge cutouts have faced an unappealing choice:

Pixemon was founded on a simple conviction: Useful photo editing should be accessible, local-first, and free to use. We believe everyone should have access to professional photo layout tools without sacrificing personal privacy or paying fees for basic utility.

Our Four Core Architectural Pillars

1. 100% Client-Side Privacy Architecture

Unlike conventional web tools that upload user files to a cloud queue, Pixemon operates on a local-first computational model. When you open a picture, it is decoded and processed within your web browser's local sandbox memory. Pixemon does not store, transmit, or analyze your pictures on remote servers. When your tab closes, your photos vanish from memory—providing absolute peace of mind for sensitive family snapshots and official identification portraits.

2. True Physical Millimeter Geometry

Most photo editing tools think only in arbitrary pixel dimensions (e.g. 800 × 600), leaving users guessing how large their photos will appear once printed on physical photo paper. Pixemon is built from the ground up on physical millimeter calculations. When you select a 35 × 45 mm passport photo or an 8 × 10 inch collage, Pixemon uses exact DPI equations (px = mm × (300 / 25.4)) to ensure that what you see on screen matches physical reality with sub-millimeter precision.

3. High-Performance WebAssembly & Edge AI

Pixemon incorporates advanced browser-side neural network models using Google MediaPipe and ONNX Runtime Web. This enables instantaneous person segmentation, hair-strand edge refinement, and backdrop replacement directly on your computer's graphics hardware (via WebGL/WebGPU) with zero latency and zero server reliance.

4. Universal Zero-Install Accessibility

Pixemon requires no software installations, account logins, passwords, or app-store downloads. Whether you are using a Windows desktop, an Apple MacBook, a Chromebook, an Android smartphone, or an iPad, Pixemon delivers a consistent, high-speed creative studio on any modern web browser.

Comprehensive Creative Capabilities

Pixemon is equipped with an integrated suite of tools designed to cover every phase of photo preparation:

Commitment to Open Web Standards

Pixemon is built using modern, open web technologies without proprietary vendor lock-in. Our codebase leverages native HTML5 Canvas, ECMAScript modules, Web Workers for asynchronous pixel processing, WebAssembly for near-native compute speeds, and modern CSS Grid for responsive multi-device layouts. We are committed to keeping Pixemon fast, lightweight, and respectful of user autonomy.
